It is a blessing from Allah Ta’ala that Al Arqam Centre can serve the community in such a noble way – teaching the correct reading of the Qur’an.  We have over the years taught thousands of students and many of them have gone on to become teachers of Qur’an and Tajweed themselves – Alhamdulilah  we ask Allah Ta’ala to accept our efforts and to pardon our short comings.

We understand the Muslim community in UK is super diverse.  In light of this, are have developed a course and lesson structure that meets the needs of the community and is flexible to cater for the busy lives we all live.  As a supplementary Islamic school, Al Arqam Centre’s class times are set around children’s attendance at state schools – but unlike traditional maktabs imbedded in masjids, there is greater flexibility and classes times offered by Al Arqam Centre.

All kids are welcome to learn at Al Arqam Centre. Alhamdulilah over the years many children have taken classes at Al Arqam Centre and learnt how to read the holy Qur’an with correct Tajweed and fluency fulfilling their dreams. Al Arqam Centre offers classes for adults both male and female from beginner level.

In general, students will be placed at the appropriate reading level following an assessment of their abilities.  The introduction of Tajweed rules is integrated into six different levels and therefore new concepts will be taught and practiced at the right time in a student’s development.

Once a student completes these levels, following a period of revision they will be tested independently of their teacher and following this pass onto the next level.  Once a student reaches the Holy Qur’an, Hifz or memorising chapters of the Holy Qur’an will be included.

Basic Islamic studies such as the articles of faith (aqeeda), life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam, performing wudhu (ritual ablution) and salah (daily prayers) are also taught alongside Tajweed lessons.
