Al Arqam was founded in 2002 in Luton, Bedfordshire by Shaykh Abu Abdullah and a small group of his students who were passionate about teaching the Holy Qur’an to be correctly recited with a high standard of Tajweed.
A small seed planted can grow into a gigantic tree, as the Arabic proverb goes, from its humble roots Al Arqam has grown into a leading institution specialising in teaching Tajweed to a high standard and islamic studies to hundreds of children attending its supplementary school and adults both male and female attending classes designed to cater for their needs.
Al Arqam’s teachers are qualified to the highest standards; they include teachers who hold ijazah in qir’aat (chain of authority in reading and teaching Tajweed going all the way back to the beloved Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam), teachers who have studied in Egypt and Huffaaz (those who know the entire Holy Qur’an by heart).
Al Arqam’s focus is to teach and proliferate the recitation of the Holy Qur’an through correct pronunciation of the Arabic letters and application of Tajweed rules. To this extent Al Arqam teaches the 6 core Iqra books in small classes sizes, which students are assessed for on completion before moving on, after which they will go on to the Holy Qur’an to continue their studies in advanced Tajweed lessons.
Al Arqam caters for all abilities, boy and girls, males and females and offers a range of class times to suit different schedules.
Al Arqam is based in a standalone building in the Leagrave area of Luton which is accessible easily using private or public transport, with excellent facilities, professional tuition and small class sizes.
