Our Holy Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam said: “The greatest of you is he who learnt the Holy Qur’an and taught it to others”.
Al Arqam Centre is based in a standalone building in the Leagrave area of Luton which is accessible easily using private or public transport from anywhere in Luton and the surrounding areas.
Also, we provide online courses for these students that cannot commute regularly to the centre or they are leaving in other places in the UK.
It is mandatory for each and every Muslim to read and recite the Qur’an correctly; pronouncing each Arabic letter accurately (makharij) and applying the rules of recitation (Tajweed) properly. It is with this aim in mind that Al Arqam Centre provides classes to children, both male and female, in Qur’anic recitation, to ensure this fundamental skill is available to be learnt and practiced by the local community.
Al Arqam’s teachers are qualified to the highest standards and are continuously improving their skills and competencies through quality monitoring. Teachers are trained to delivery classes that cater for different learning styles and abilities. All staff and teachers have thorough background checks including DBS clearance before taking their positions.
Al Arqam Centre class sizes are kept small to ensure students are given maximum tutor-student time. Classrooms are well equipped and student’s different learning styles are catered for through ensuring teachers teach and convey key concepts through a variety of ways including both verbally and visually.
Alongside Tajweed lessons, basic Islamic studies is also taught. Subject areas covered include aqeeda, salah (prayer), purification, manners and seerah of Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam to name a few. During the year, at significant Islamic dates such as Ramadhan and Hajj, students are taught about these events and the relevance they hold in the life of a Muslim, this practical approach ensures students not only experience these events, but understand why they happen and why they are important in the life of a Muslim. If the class time coincides with one of the five daily prayers (salah), students will perform the prayer together, fulfilling one of the pillars of Islam and at the same time experiencing in practice the beautiful act of worshipping Allah Ta’ala with others in a jamaah.
Teachers are also on hand to answer any questions students may have pertaining to these events further enhancing their knowledge.
Al Arqam Centre takes pride in being inclusive to all of the community. Our staff, teachers and students are very diverse and from all backgrounds. Classes are taught in the English medium to ensure rapport is built with students.
We provide online classes for those who need it. Please visit the Courses section or contact Al Arqam Centre to find out more.
